Aruba! Happy Mother's Day

My love for traveling comes from my mother. I’ve had a passport since I was a year old; family vacations were a regular occurrence growing up. Now more than ever my mother is always going somewhere; my brothers and I have difficulty keeping up with her. Recently my mother was in Aruba with my aunt and cousin and I was able to catch up with her about her trip.

Where did you go and what did you see?

We stayed at the Divi Aruba Phoenix Resort. They have very nice rooms with a balcony view of the pool or beach.

Divi Aruba Phoenix has two restaurants. Pure Ocean restaurant offers a brunch buffet daily and has table seating on the beach; good food and very nice to watch the sunset while dining. You can choose to get a little dressy.  Pure Beach has beach side dining with a two piece band entertainment and pool bar; the dress code is beach casual. The resort also offers Pure Deli for a light breakfast and sandwiches.

We took the bus outside of the resort for downtown shopping, designer stores, restaurants and casino. There's also shopping on Main street.

I heard Flaming Beach is a nice place to visit, but we didn't get a chance to go.  Apparently the beach is flooded with Flamingos.

Driving the ATV was the best excursion although it was a five hour day. The bus picked us up at the resort. We were given instructions on driving the ATV, then we were off riding to the other side of the island which was very hilly and rocky.

We traveled an hour to a natural pool. Along the way we visited the ALTO VISTA Church and Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins, then journeyed back to the resort before the sunset.

Best experience was the 80 degree daily weather, walking the beach, ATVing and snorkeling.

Worst experience was when it was time to leave beautiful Aruba.

Favorite Island Drink: Aruba!  Ariba! The food was more of American dishes: chicken, fish, pasta.

I would definitely visit again. Aruba is 25 miles long by 7 miles wide, a small Island with friendly people.

Most surprising is the people in Aruba speak 7 different languages.

Aruba Slogan: ONE HAPPY ISLAND 🏝
