San Francisco Mini Vacation

I was in San Francisco for three days for my cousin's wedding. This was my first time in California and the longest flight I've ever taken (5 1/2 hours from Fort Lauderdale). My cousin advised me to bring a jacket, but my south Florida body was freezing when I stepped off the plane. San Francisco in June felt like the coldest winter in Florida (60-70 degrees). I had to text my cousin and tell him this was more than bring a jacket weather. Since I arrived in San Francisco late Thursday night, I  went straight to my hotel and went to bed. Friday morning a few more family members were arriving in San Francisco and we all decided to meet at the Golden Gate bridge. I was still freezing, but the cold weather and wind didn't stop us (and many other people) from walking across the Golden Gate Bridge (we walked across some of the bridge).

Friday night my cousin and his soon to be wife had a party/get together so both families can meet before the wedding.

Saturday morning (day of the wedding) one of my brothers googled the best breakfast place in Mill Valley, California (near our hotel) and found Kitchen Sunnyside. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Price wasn't too bad and the food was plentiful. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast. We didn't have much time to do anything else after breakfast because we needed to get ready for the wedding later that day. We couldn't be late for a wedding we flew across the country to attend.

It was finally time for the wedding and we were not late.  The views were amazing.  The weather was also perfect not too hot and not too cold.

Sunday was finally sightseeing day. The wedding activities were over and I had a little time to explore San Francisco. First stop was the Full House house.

Next was the Painted Ladies, Lombard Street (crookedest street in the world) and Fisherman's Wharf. I didn't get to spend a lot of time at Fisherman's Warf, but it seemed like a cool place with plenty of stores, souvenir shops, restaurants, Madame Tussands, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and much more.

Steep roads

Overall I enjoyed my time in San Francisco. I was only here for three days so I didn't get to explore much of the city. Even though the weather was cool my first day, it warmed up nicely the next two days. The most surprising part of my trip was learning the stores do not carry plastic bags. All bags were paper bags and at some stores we had to pay 10 cents for a bag. Also, there were plenty of bike riders. There were just as many bike riders as cars on the road.  The roads were very steep,I'm glad I didn't have to drive during my vacation. There were so many hills I almost felt like I was on roller coaster. Not sure when or if I will have a chance to visit San Francisco again, but I had a great experience.

  1. Nice! Keep it up😊 A travel
Blog is so exciting. Will the travel theme be popular American cities? Non popular American cities and exposing what could make them popular? Ooh, maybe a food segment?

    1. I'm glad you liked it. I want to do all types of cities across the U.S. and hopefully international. I also want to do special events in different cities, places for kids, date night, girls night, and definitely great places to eat.
