Saturday in Savannah


The first time I went to Savannah, GA I was in high school visiting Georgia Southern University, which is about 40 minutes away. I automatically did not like Georgia Southern University; I thought Statesboro was the most boring town, but I loved Savannah and the local street artists and cobblestone roads. The second time I went to Savannah was last weekend after my brother’s graduation from Georgia Southern University. He obviously didn’t mind living in Statesboro for four years.  To be honest, Statesboro seemed less boring this time around. I was excited to go back to Savannah to see the local art/artists, cobblestone roads, southern food, history, and take a walk by the water. I was only here for a day, but so glad I was able to experience this city again. Maybe next time I’ll be brave enough to go on a ghost tour.

Three Day Bahamas Cruise

I went on a three day cruise to Nassau on Carnival with my family. This was a short trip but very enjoyable. Carnival is known as the "family cruise" everyone and their children and grandparents were on this ship. One benefit of traveling on a cruise is the all you eat food option. On this cruise I was not impressed with the food options at the buffet stations and the lines were very long. Also, only certain food stations were available at certain times. I preferred the sit down dinner at the dining hall over the "all you can eat" buffet stations.  We sailed from Port Canaveral, Florida Thursday night and arrived in Nassau Friday around noon. Study Abroad Iceland Part 2

Part 2 of Javon's study abroad experience in Iceland. He discusses his overall experience and most importantly the food. I had a hard time selecting pictures since all of the pictures he sent me were amazing. How was the flight? I flew from Atlanta at 3pm to New York. My flight was delayed 5 hours; I left New York at 11pm and  landed in Iceland at 9am the next day. When I returned I flew into Minneapolis before arriving back in Atlanta. First thought when getting off the plane. It was cold and rainy. The airport was very small. There were a lot of tourists coming into the country. Customs was not really there. Best experience. The entire trip was a great experience.  Worst experience. Everything is really far apart from each other. Living Your Best Life In Europe and Africa

One of the ways I try to live my best life is by traveling, but due to the way my life is set up (working, mothering, adulting) I don't get out that much (for now). I like to live my travel dreams vicariously through others. My cousin and his wife recently had the opportunity to travel to Europe and Africa for a few months. I'm not sure if it is possible to summarize their extensive trip, but that didn't stop me from asking my cousin a few questions about his experience. Where did you go/places visited? 2 weeks - London, Amsterdam, Rome, Cinque Terre. 3 months - Lagos,  Nigeria  About 4 days - Accra, Ghana 2 weeks after- about 1 week in South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town, the garden route) and about 5 days in Swakopmund, Namibia.
