Joy's Top 8 Learning Experiences About Traveling To The Dominican Republic

I traveled to the Dominican Republic for a week in early March of 2018 and I experienced things I will never forget. I don’t know the best way to write about my experiences because so many things happened, I can’t possibly share them all. I will instead give you this list. It pales in comparison to my actual experience, but here’s a little taste. Things I learned after traveling to the Dominican Republic: 1)       I have zero street smarts. In other words, it is unwise to walk the streets of a foreign country, speaking English, with alcohol in hand. 2)       A Dominican twist on food from other countries is something I can live without. For example, Dominican sushi has plantains and my only response to that is WHY? 3)       Flushing toilet paper down the toilet is a no-no . It will clog up the toilet. Aruba! Happy Mother's Day

My love for traveling comes from my mother. I’ve had a passport since I was a year old; family vacations were a regular occurrence growing up. Now more than ever my mother is always going somewhere; my brothers and I have difficulty keeping up with her. Recently my mother was in Aruba with my aunt and cousin and I was able to catch up with her about her trip. Where did you go and what did you see? We stayed at the Divi Aruba Phoenix Resort. They have very nice rooms with a balcony view of the pool or beach. Divi Aruba Phoenix has two restaurants. Pure Ocean restaurant offers a brunch buffet daily and has table seating on the beach; good food and very nice to watch the sunset while dining. You can choose to get a little dressy.  Pure Beach has beach side dining with a two piece band entertainment and pool bar; the dress code is beach casual.
